Monosync and Bisync Data for ASCII and EBCDIC Setting up the Serialtest ComProbe to capture monosync and bisync data for ASCII and EBCDIC code sets When setting the I/O configuration, you must set the "sync characters" when running either monosync or bisync. The standard sync character for ASCII is $16; the standard sync character for EBCDIC is $32. If you are setting monosync you will need to set the sync character in one location on the DTE line and one location on the DCE line. With Bisync, it is two locations on DTE and DCE. The default sync character used by the FTS Software is $16.
