View details associated with data traveling between two devices, both data bytes and control signals, on the Event Display Window. The information displayed for each data byte includes timestamp, control signal states, and line errors. Each byte value is displayed in hex, decimal, octal, binary, and either ASCII, EBCDIC, or Baudot. The Event Display Window also calculates the delta time between a selected range of events. Multiple Event Display windows can be opened simultaneously to allow users to view different sections of the captured data.
Byte Level Search
Examine and search data as it is being captured (or after it has been saved), through use of the Find Function . Use the Find Function to quickly pinpoint problem areas in the captured data or to move to a specific point in the datastream. Event level Find Function search criteria include pattern (with bit-level wildcards), time (absolute or relative), errors, and signal changes. Data searches can also be performed at the frame level.

Examine the real-time status of each major RS-232 control signal, DTR, RTS, CTS, DSR, CD, and RI, through the Breakout Box Window . Counters display the number of state changes associated with each control signal.
Control Signal Analysis
View the state of each control signal for a defined range of events or over the course of an entire capture session via the Signal Display Window . Invoking the "Snap To" feature simplifies problem isolation by causing the cursor to snap to the nearest signal change. Like all FTS windows, the Signal Display Window and Event Display Window are synchronized; selecting a range of events on one causes the simultaneous display of the same events on the other.

The Export feature supports two types of data export: Event Export and Frame Export. Event Export outputs event level information in text or binary format. The Event Export function provides output that is human readable, suitable for importing into a spreadsheet or database, or useable by other programs for post-processing. Export templates (Excel/Access, comma separated values, etc.) suitable for this purpose, are included, as is support for the creation of user-definable export templates. A C++ software program, which demonstrates the use of a simple API capable of reading a binary export file, is also included.
