1. FTS4BT now offers a Universal License. The Universal License saves money by allowing users to share a single license, even if the users are separated geographically. When one user is finished using FTS4BT, he may store his license, over the Internet to be picked up by another user. Please contact sales@fte.com for more information.
    
2. There’s a new add-on available for FTS4BT, the Wi-Fi Add-on. The Wi-Fi Add-on comes with Wi-Fi sniffing hardware and capture both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi data to a single file. It displays Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the new Coexistence View so that the interaction between the two technologies may observed and analyzed.
    
3. Beginning with version 7.8.12.0, authorization codes are longer be required if you have the new (blue and white) ComProbe. Multi-user site licenses are no longer required, as any ComProbe will work with any FTS4BT installation.
   
   To exchange your ComProbe for the new one, please fill out the ComProbe Exchange form The new ComProbe, in conjunction with firmware 56 provides vastly improved synchronization.

4. For all modes of sniffing, you must have a main ComProbe attached and connected, unless you have a Universal License.
    
5. Secure Simple Pairing messages are captured but FTS4BT does not compute the Link Key from the data in the messages. This means that any encrypted data will not be automatically decrypted. FTS4BT will decrypt messages if the Link Key is provided by the user during the capture process. For more information on SSP, please read our Secure Simple Pairing White Paper.

The v8.7.8.0 release supports all Bluetooth core specification version 2.1 features, including computing the Link Key for Secure Simple Pairing connections and Extended Inquiry Response. It also includes multi-baud and auto bit rate features for the HSU Option. Firmware 59 is included. Only newer ComProbes can use firmware 59. Firmware 59 is not compatible with the older ComProbes. Version 8.7.8.0 supports both the older and newer ComProbes, but upgrading to the newer probe is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. top

If you are having problems synching consistently, please upgrade your ComProbe to the current (blue and white) model. Synchronization has been improved markedly over earlier versions of the probe.

If you already have the new ComProbe, but have older firmware, please download FTS4BT version 8.5.5.0 above or download firmware 58 here. Instructions for updating firmware are in the Upgrading Your Bluetooth ComProbe document in the Setup folder under your FTS4BT desktop folder.
